When you’re at home a lot, you reinvent yourself – at least I did, and I start thinking about things like how hard it can be to make bread. The answer: it’s not that difficult. 🙂
I’ve never baked something like this before, but based on the descriptions, it’s not magical, it requires relatively few ingredients, and we know that our own cooking/baking is always tastier.
On the other hand, if I’m going to bake bread, I want something extra, so after a bit of searching, I chose the Swiss pain paillasse, and on Bonjour Uncle Möszjő!’s site, I’ve managed to find a very good Hungarian recipe, which I can warmly recommend to everyone
Unfortunately, I didn’t take many pictures, but this is what my kneaded dough looked like:

And after letting it rest under foil…

… folded into four and twisted as described, it turned out like this:

I kept it in the oven a little longer, so it turned out slightly crispier than I expected, but the result was still satisfactory:

We managed to put together a super small Mediterranean breakfast/lunch with it:

I’ve always known that I like to cook mainly Mediterranean dishes, but after this recent baking, I can see that home baking will also be something that I will take up again and again as a weekend activity.
